About Me
My Story
I love games. I love playing them and making them and I love how fun they can be. As a kid, I always wondered how they worked, and now I'm always working on them. Development, while demanding, never gets old to me. I always aim to add a bit of myself to every project, whether it be a complex game-play system, scripted event, or a visual effect. I believe in the power of games to bring fun to people around the world and foster community.
For my first sharable game, I worked alone to create a unique action oriented mobile game using Unity, GIMP, and C# while managing a group VR project in the background. Moving forward I continued learning as much as I could, making many more games in the process with friends and classmates. I started to feel confident in my skills and decided to work as a course assistant for Game Design students, where I assisted in creating learning resources and guiding students' development throughout the next year. I always put my all into these projects which led to my internship with LUMA at Digital Worlds Studios. With LUMA I had the opportunity to work with a team of 20 to develop an interactive city builder for the city of Gainesville. I'm currently learning Unreal and developing a small game with my friends as I build my itch.io portfolio with my best work.
Even when I have time to myself, I tend to continue learning more about games. I'm especially interested in watching reviews, game analysis, and of course playing games. Recently I've started keeping a journal of things that make games engaging. I also enjoy nature and spending time with my close friends. I enjoy biking, hiking, recreational sports along with traveling, swimming and surfing whenever possible. I like to learn and experience as much as I can, especially outside of just video games. I'm really interested in how people experience things and figuring out what they enjoy. I like to view games, not only in the traditional sense, but as a technology of emotion.
